Plastics procurement firm launched
26-07-2010
New procurement jobs could be on the cards after a firm specialising in plastics procurement was launched.
Mathelin Bay Associates has been established by former Spartech Corporation executive Philip Karig that will focus on helping plastics processors with their procurement needs.
The firm is opening with offices in both St Louis, Missouri in the US and Germany with a base in Berlin.
Announcing the launch of the new firm, Mr Karig said he recognises that the situation of every plastics processor is unique.
"Our focus is to supply processors in North America and Europe with insightful and impartial market advice and alternatives - the essential information to make an informed purchase in the short term or to plan long-term procurement strategy," he explained.
He added that the plastics industry has experienced changes in recent years that have weakened the industry's collective purchasing power.
European procurement officers will be able to meet the new company at the forthcoming K Show in Dusseldorf, which takes place in late October.
