Employees in procurement jobs might benefit from greater communication in the workplace, after a marketing director at a major UK firm claimed that bosses need to build a "conversive atmosphere" at work.
Bosses of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) need to ensure they create a culture which promotes positive communication, according to Everything Everywhere SME marketing director Martin Lyne.
"Having the necessary tools and processes in place to promote open communication is therefore a must for business leaders," he explained.
He added that any SME should try to have a presence on Web 2.0 technology such as Facebook or Twitter to help build its profile.
This can be used to increase recognition on search engines like Google and be used as a recruitment tool to grow a business, Mr Lyne said.
According to Hiscox, almost one in three small businesses (30 per cent) in Europe are set for expansion 2010.
